Endurance is basically another word for constitution, so why not use the Endurance score in its place? Social Status is basically what others think of that character, and so is charisma. What is wisdom after all than ones accumulated experience over one's lifetime, and what is education but the same thing. It seems to me that Soc can basically function as Cha, and Edu can function as Wis. I've looked at T20, and it seems they've gone the route of adding two superfluous ability scores: Str, Dex, Con, Wis, Edu, Cha, and Soc.

By switching to the classic Traveller scores, the ability mods remain from -5 to +5, but the scores are actually from 2 to 12 with the possibility of going higher with additional experience. What the d20 rpg system actually uses are not the ability scores themselves but the ability score modifiers instead, which instead of going from 3 to 18, go from -4 to +4. Not sure if this is something you want or not?īasically the intent is to substitute Traveller Ability scores for d20/Pathfinder Ability scores, and to substitute Traveller skills for d20/Pathfinder skills, the saving throws used in d20/Pathfinder would be based on the Traveller ability scores Str, Dex, End, Int, Edu, Soc, instead of the d20/Pathfinder ability scores Str, Dex, Con, Int, Edu, Soc. Going from 2d6 to d20 will mean ending up with more evenly distributed numbers for one, suggesting more extreme results will occur more frequently. On the surface this seems like you'll get results that are fairly close, but I suspect closer inspection of the probabilities will show that results are somewhat skewered. I think this is going to be buried in this thread. Just basically ability, skills, and equipment is all you need for your characters. i see no reason to have feats, or to complicate the game any further. Assuming 7 is the base for each score, then a 2 is equivalent to -5 and a 12 is +5 apply these mods to Traveller skill checks as rolled by a d20 dice, add in the skill level (Pilot 1 for example), add in a dexterity or intelligence mod (12-7 - +5) and we roll a d20 add +1 for pilot skill and add +5 for dexterity or intelligence, then see if we can equal or exceed the specified difficulty class to accomplish the task. I'm used to a d20 mechanic, the scale of the Traveller ability scores (2-12) is approximately the same as the ability mods from d20 which go from -4 to +4 for abilities ranging from 3 to 18.
